Re: Bleeding after methotrexate

Hi there,
Just thought I’d post as I had the same worries up until a week ago. My bleeding stopped at 7 weeks 3 days after methotrexate. X

Re: second injection of methotrexate

Hi there, I had first injection on 29th May (levels 3200) and my levels rose to 5800 4 days later. I had second injection with level at 5100 a week after the first. It’s been a long process but 7 weeks after diagnosis I’ve been told I’m at 0 today so need for op etc. Hope that helps, it’s such an aw...

Re: How long is normal to bleed after methotrexate?

I’m in the same boat as you if it helps. Had first injection on 29th May with levels at highest up to 5800. Second injection on 5th June. I’m now down to 98 but not going for next bloods for a fortnight as that’s how they’ve set up my reviews. I’m still bleeding too but I understand that I may bleed...

Re: Experiences after Methotrexate

Hi Ktbe27, I had similar pain for the first few days after methotrexate and managed without paracetamol as I wanted to be super aware if the pain increased. I didn’t have the shoulder niggles (had injection 5 weeks ago). My pain increased around 5 days after injection and this was mainly on my right...

Re: Hormones!

Hi ktj2020, I hope your levels are 0 by next week. I’m hoping that’ll be the point when you can focus on the next stage of recovery. I feel the same when I go to epu, they do seem nice ladies but I feel by now even they think I should stop asking questions, I really didn’t realise it would take this...

Re: Hormones!

Thank you both for posting this, this is exactly how I feel. I’m 5 weeks post methotrexate and levels now down to 98. I have a 14 day wait for my next bloods which will put me at 7 weeks post injection. I asked for 7 days and they said that it wasn’t recommended, I presume due to covid. I feel as th...

Re: Was it because I'm fat?

Hi there, I definitely don’t think it has anything to do with weight. I’ve been reading up about causes constantly since having methotrexate 5 weeks ago. I’ve not seen weight mentioned anywhere. I too am struggling with the what have I done wrong in the past to cause this, could it be an infection, ...

Re: Methotrexate and nutrition + things I wish I knew

Thanks for your reply Karen. My post should have said my hcg had dropped to 820 on the 3rd week (19th June), can’t believe I missed that out, which is why i presume she was happy to leave it 2 weeks. I’m back at 9 this Friday 3rd July. Counting down the days now - it does seem like a long stretch no...

Re: Methotrexate and nutrition + things I wish I knew

Thank you for this original post. I really think the information given about nutrition is lacking from the hospital. I wasn’t told to have any dietary controls and I am convinced that this resulted in me having to have two methotrexate injections. I made sure I ate really healthy that first week to ...
