Re: Heart is broken...

Hi Toni, Did you manage your night out? I hope so. I went out for my husbands birthday. I put Poppy to bed and then went out around 7 and was back at 11:30, Poppy woke up at 12 and didn’t go back to sleep until 2 so I only had 4 hours sleep but I actually didn’t feel too bad. I just had an early nig...

Re: Heart is broken...

Hi Toni. That’s great Arielle is sleeping so well in her own bed now. And even better if she’s waking and then going back to sleep. Poppy isn’t doing too badly. She’s been sleeping 7-4/5 some nights and other nights she might wake for a feed around 2 and then sleep until 6. Although last night she w...

Re: Heart is broken...

Hi Toni, So glad she had a good birthday and hopefully you will get to go to the sealife centre one day in the future. We went to the one in Birmingham and it was really good. Poppy was probably a little young but she loved all the bright colours and the movement. I’ve heard quite a few people recen...

Re: Heart is broken...

Toni - I can’t believe Arielle will be two next week! How is that possible? Sorry to hear you haven’t been very well. There’s so many horrible bugs and things going around at the moment. My spa weekend was lovely thank you. It was nice to be able to go out and relax and my husband did so well gettin...

Re: Heart is broken...

I remember those days well. Thinking they have settled and then bam eyes wide open as soon as they hit the Moses basket: a few things that worked for us was a love to dream swaddle (like a sleeping bag) it means it’s not so cold when they are put down and we also warmed the Moses basket with a hot w...

Re: Heart is broken...

Keeponhopping - time really does fly. The sleepless nights do get better, although I’ll be honest it’s only from about 7 months Poppy’s sleep improved but each baby is different. I’ll pray it’s earlier for you :D It really is the best thing in the world being a Mummy. Have you got much time off work...

Re: Heart is broken...

My only advice is it does get better. I genuinely thought I might die from sleep deprivation in the early days. My husband used to stay up until 11/12pm and I would go to bed at 7 and get a few good hours sleep then I would be up and some nights it would be 4/5 before I got another hours sleep. If I...

Re: Heart is broken...

Sorry - I posted too soon! Poppy has taken a bottle at bed the past two nights so we’ve had some improvement but she’s full of cold today so don’t know if that will upset her again. My spa evening is Friday so not long now. Just hoping she continues to take it ok this week. I still have to feed her ...

Re: Heart is broken...

Hi Butterfly1 Lovely to hear from you. Sorry to hear you aren’t enjoying being back at work - how many days are you working? I’m already dreading going back and I’ve still got a few months yet. It’s so hard isn’t it. I’m fortunate that I’m doing a job share so am only doing 2.5 days a week and Poppy...

Re: Heart is broken...

Hi Toni, Sorry it’s taken a while to reply. We’ve been busy with being away then it was my husbands birthday. How are you doing? It’s Arielle still sleeping in her bed? Poppy is doing well in her cot but she’s refusing her bottle again. She always had a bottle for a dreamfeed but the past week she j...

Re: Heart is broken...

Hi Toni, We’ve been on holiday this week and had a lovely time. Poppy has been so good. It’s been hard as we’ve been out of routine so have struggled to stick to set times with meals etc and she’s had quite a few Ella’s kitchen pouches but I thought it’s only a few days and we will be back to normal...

Re: Heart is broken...

Hi Toni, I hope you are feeling a bit happier now. It can be hard when you’re on your own a lot with a little one. I try and get out each day even if it’s just for a walk as I find fresh air just really helps. We’ve started weaning this week. Poppy is 24 weeks now and so interested in food. We’ve ju...

Re: Heart is broken...

Hi Toni, I am so sorry to hear that about your friends brother - that is devestating. We are doing well thanks. Poppy has been waking up quite a lot the last few nights -I don’t think the heat helps at all. If I have a really bad night I nap with her in the day in my bed - she sleeps longer for her ...

Re: Heart is broken...

Hi Toni, How is Arielle now? I really hope she’s a bit better. We’ve had Poppy in her cot the last few nights and she’s doing ok actually. She does usually wake around 1/1:30 for a feed and then can be up as early as 5 but she’s usually asleep by 7:30 so I don’t think that’s too bad. The weaning wor...

Re: Heart is broken...

Hi Butterfly1, Poppy is well thank you and I think (touch wood) we may be coming out of the 4 month regression. She’s now having a feed at 10:30pm and then waking around 2:30/3 and then not having another feed until 6/6:30 when she gets up which feels amazing. She does however spend 10-15 minutes ch...

Re: Heart is broken...

Hi Toni, How are you? Did your boyfriend move the cot over? I hope Arielle is sleeping a little better. We’ve had a tough week or so with Poppy waking up every 2/3 hours which I can cope with but she’s waking up at 4/5 and just won’t go back to sleep. She’s getting so big for her Moses basket too so...

Re: Heart is broken...

Hi Toni, How are you doing? Is Arielle sleeping any better now you have the cot in your room? Lack of sleep is so hard so I don’t blame you not feeling like getting out sometimes. When we have had a bad night it’s just better to stay home and relax. I managed to go to my spa - my Mum took Poppy and ...

Re: Heart is broken...

Hi Butterfly1, Lovely to hear from you and how is Jack already one? That’s crazy! How has his first nights in his room been? We’ve been trying to get Poppy to take a bottle but still no luck. I’m ok breastfeeding - it was more just if I was going out etc but she still won’t take it. Think I may try ...

Re: Heart is broken...

Hi Toni, So glad you managed to get your night out. Like you said, sometimes you just need a break and time to unwind. I’m finding the breastfeeding ok and I enjoy it too. I’m hoping to get to a year with it. We also do a formula bottle each evening as a dreamfeed but the past week she hasn’t been t...
