Irregular periods after EP

Post by Louise123 »

I had my left tube removed Nov 2016 and was told my remaining tube looked healthy. The surgeon said I could ttc after my first cycle but I chose to wait till after my second cycle.

Prior to my EP I had been on the minipill for 4 years and not had a period in all the time I was on it. I came off it in Aug, had my first period in Sep (28 day cycle) then fell pregnant.

Following surgery in Nov...
First cycle - 28 days
Second cycle -22 days

I was spotting quite alot this month too. Has anyone else experienced irregular short cycles and spotting following an EP?

Dear Louise123,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,
It is very common to experience irregular bleeding patterns and occasional spotting following ectopic pregnancy. Doctors normally consider menstrual cycles of between 23-42 days to be within normal parameters. As you have not had a period for many years, your body may take a little longer to get into a more natural rhythm.
I would advise keeping a diary and talking to your health care provider if you become concerned.
Sending much love,
Karen x
