Hi, I had abnominal surgery 3 weeks ago (keyhole didn't work) having most of my right tube removed, and while I've been recovering well, today I woke at 4:30am feeling sick & have felt sick all day with a bit of diarrhea & stomach ache. I very rarely get anything like this - I'm not sure if I've just picked something up cos my immune system is down (although I haven't been out much!) or if there could be any connection with surgery etc? Also I'm yet to have any bleeding which I was told I would have, is that normal??
While I've been resting as much as possible I have a 2.5 year old & also run my own business from home so have had to get on with things. My parents stayed for nearly 3 weeks to help but have now gone home. I suddenly feel a lot more emotional but maybe cos I've just lost that support.
Anyway, wondering if I should see the doc or if I just need to rest more?

Hi,
I am currently experiencing similar symptoms I am nearly 3 weeks post op, and I am having nausea with dizziness and feeling lightheaded. I went to my GP and they said that it is just my body's way of recovering however I am starting to feel worse than I did last week. I think if something doesn't feel right and then keep pestering your GP.

I’m so sorry to hear of all that you are going through. Your plate is so full. Experiencing an ectopic is a physical and emotional trauma; you’ve been through a lot in a short amount of time. Your surgery was still very recent and you will likely still be recovering physically. Not feeling well could be a symptom of cold or flu, as you mention. It is also possible to continue having pregnancy symptoms while pregnancy hormones are still in system which could be why she's feeling nauseous. This usually subsides as hormone levels drop. As you had surgery recently and are concerned, you should see your Dr’s just to be on the safe side.
Typically, women bleed following surgery as it is the natural response to falling hormone levels and uterine lining is shed. It usually starts in the first few days, but all bodies are different. As I’m not medically qualified, it is difficult for me to speak on specific instances.
It’s very important to look after yourself right now. You’ve had a major surgery and the recovery time will vary from person to person. Where you can get rest, it is important to do so, and certainly as you are not feeling well, to be checked out.
