Ectopic?

Post by AbbeyR1 »

Hi all,
I guess I’m after some experiences/advice. I’m only 4 weeks 4 days pregnant. My hcg levels have gone up from 140 to 330 over 48 hours so that’s the first good sign. But for the last 2 days I’ve had left sided stitch like pain in my hip and lower back radiating down my leg and occasionally up into my shoulder. It’s certainly not severe at all, very mild but there. It flairs slightly when I pee. I had some very slight brown CM for about 5 days at the time AF was due (after my BFP) but that’s all resolved. I’m concerned about an ectopic. I’ve mentioned it to the GP and OB and both have said that it’s too early for an ectopic. I’m sure it’s too early for a tube rupture but I feel like these symptoms may be signs of an ectopic pre-rupture. Obviously I can’t rule it in/out without that scan at 6 weeks. Will take my hcg again mid week 5. Thoughts?

Hi AbbeyR1,

I am so sorry you are going through this worrying time. It's good you have liaised with your GP and OB, but of course, it's important to listen to your body as well. I'm not medically qualified to reply to your specific situation and certainly recommend contacting the EPU for an early scan for reassurance. I know it is hard to wait in these early weeks, and it is easier said than done to try not and worry. Keep looking after yourself. You might find that recording your symptoms is helpful for sharing them with your GP and OB.

We will continue to be here for you for as long as you need it.

With good wishes,

Michele
