What should I ask?

Post by kittysoman2013 »

Hi, I have a meeting tomorrow with a consultant who specialises in ectopics and I would really appreciate some advice on what to ask. Ive just had my second ectopic pregnancy in a year and I’ve no prior pregnancies or children. I’m also 33. I’ve got questions about whether or not I need an HSG test and if we should continue to try naturally or will we be offered some help. Those sorts of things but I don’t want to miss anything out or forget to ask something so I would really appreciate some input.

Thanks

Dear kittysoman2013,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancies and losses but pleased to hear you have an appointment with a specialist.
Sadly there aren't any tests to prevent ectopic pregnancy however, I think these appointments can be used to discuss if any in investigations are appropriate, as what investigations they may have in mind as well as ones you are considering. Discuss side effects of any investigations so you can decide if you wish to go ahead. Ask about timing of any investigations, especially with the current covid-19 pandemic as some options maybe withheld at the moment.
We have more information on testing after ectopic pregnancy here

If you do have any specific questions, write them down so you do not forget to ask them.
Sending much love,
Karen x
