Hair loss - how long after Mtx
I was given MTX 3 days ago for an ovarian ectopic pregnancy discovered during my second trip to the ER. Yesterday I had a small clump of hair loss, today it’s triple the amount with a few strands with scalp intact still... how long did the hair loss continue for those who experienced this supposedly “rare” side effects from MTX treatment? My hair is significantly shorter on one side now and thin in so many areas now.

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,
Whilst hair loss is a rare side effect of methotrexate treatment, stress can also be a cause.

It should grow back but if you do not notice any new regrowth, or are concerned about your rate of hair loss, please speak to your GP.
