Irregular bleeding
Irregular bleeding
I’m just wondering if anyone has experienced irregular bleeding after an ectopic ? It’s been 8 weeks since I had surgery and my left Fallopian tube removed I had a bleed following the surgery then my first period after 5 weeks , 3 weeks later I’ve started bleeding again. My periods have never been irregular before ?
Also, did anyone have a follow up after surgical management for an ectopic I haven’t heard anything from the hospital since discharge and haven’t received my biopsy results ?
Thank you in advance Everyone

Re: Irregular bleeding
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,
Periods can take a while to get back to a rhythm that is more usual for you. I also found that my periods changed for a few months after my losses, this is normal after our bodies settle down from the ordeal.
If you had a salpingectomy (fallopian tube removed) no follow-up is needed although some hospitals ask you to return for an outpatient appointment about 6 weeks after surgery to ensure that your tummy has healed properly and to answer any questions you may have. If you are not offered a follow-up appointment, your GP would probably like to see you at around 6 weeks, or before you return to work, to undertake a postoperative check to make sure that you are healing well.
Sending much love,
Karen x
