Help please! Pain post surgery

Post by annaspan »

Hi,

I am three weeks post surgery for my ectopic and I lost my right tube. The wounds have healed up but my right wound still had stitches sticking out and I’ve got the worst pain....my skin is so sore to touch, like needles....it is not red or inflamed just terribly painful to wear clothes. The bed covers wake me up at night, doctor just said it’s nerve pain.

Anyone else had this? I’m worried I’m going to have this pain forever now. Help! :(

Dear annaspan,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss and continued pain.
I presume you have had the sutures you mentioned removed? If not I would suggest booking in with your practice nurse to have this done. It is possible that it is nerve pain, however I am not medically trained so cannot give you specific advice. If the pain continues or worsens, I would advise speaking to your GP again who should look into this for you or perhaps prescribe some suitable pain relief.

Sending much love,
Karen x

I got this too but just my low back and legs. Nerve damage they said. It was the worst feeling ever and so hard to explain. I hope I don’t get that feeling with my sutures. I am currently 2 weeks post
