Hi all
Just looking for a bit of advice/reassurance. I lost my right tube in October following a grim long winded management and injections. I have my period at the moment (annoyingly as we have just started to try again) and I have pain where my tube was removed. This has happened every period since the removal of the tube. Not agony but definitely more pain where the tube was than anything else. Does anyone else have experience of this?

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,
Experiencing some pain after an ectopic pregnancy is normal as your body has been through a great deal over the last few months. The pain may be due to adhesions (scar tissue that binds two parts of the body together) which form and take some time to settle. Your body may be preparing to ovulate and many women experience ovulation pain when they did not before their ectopic pregnancy - including myself. You also may have a heightened perception because of the sad loss that you have had to go through. If you find you experience offensive smelling discharge or an increased temperature of more than 37°C or just want to be checked out to be on the safe side, it would be worth asking your doctors to run tests to check for infection.
If the pain persists, I suggest keeping a pain diary noting when the pain appears, the intensity on a scale of 0-10 and anything that helps the pain eg resting, hot water bottle, paracetamol etc. Visiting your doctors with this information helps them to assess how best to manage your symptoms.

Hi, didn't have my tube removed but am a few months out and still get occasional mild pain both on my ectopic side and the other side (but not usually pain on both sides at once) this seems to be sometimes related to walking/sport, sometimes ovulation or period etc. I don't think it's unusual based on what I've read, and there can be many possible causes after ectopics and surgery, but defs ask doctor if concerned and agree with the previous advice re watching for signs of infection.

It’s not consistent bad pain and like you said it can be on both sides but never at the same time. I think I’ll wait and see what happens over the next few months before going to the doctor as I think it is probably normal!
