2nd ectopic in 3 months

Post by Stephy »

I had a ruptured heterotopic pregnancy in December 2020. I had surgery and lost my right tube.

When I found out we were pregnant again 2 weeks ago I was thrilled. It was our first cycle trying and it felt like a miracle.

I went for my placement scan on Monday and they saw what could've been a gestational sac but no more than that and it was too small to be sure. I ovulated from my right side! Today I went back and it's another ectopic. This time in the stump where my tube used to be. It's not been confirmed yet though.

I'm beyond devastated. I am still traumatised from last time which was so recent and now we are having to go through it all over again.

I'm waiting for the consultant to discuss treatment options but my heart is broken all over again.

Hi Stephy,

I'm 5 weeks post surgery following my first pregnancy that was ectopic.

I'm so sorry you're going through this, I can't begin to imagine the heartbreak of another ectopic so soon. My heart goes out to you and I know there's nothing I can say or do to make it better, I just want you to know you're in my thoughts and not alone. 💜

Xx

Thank you everyone. I'm in hospital until Sunday so they can monitor bloods as I have some mild pain and am higher risk of complications anyway. We'll come up with a plan then. I just feel numb now

I'm sorry you are all going through this too

Stephy, I am so sorry to hear your story, I hope you are doing well now?

My story is almost identical to yours and you are the first one I have heard of to also have had an ectopic on the stump left behind from a tube removal.

I don't have any positive pregnancy news (yet!) following my two ectopics (and a miscarriage in the middle) but I am doing much better mentally (my last ectopic was August 2020).

I just wanted to remind you that you are not alone, I am happy to talk to you or anyone else as I think its important to share our experiences.

I hope you are doing well and sending you such positive vibes for your next pregnancy <3
