Bleeding after Sex

Post by CateLow »

I was finally cleared by my doctor to resume all activity, my numbers have hit zero. Last night, my husband and I were intimate, but I noted on the condom, quite a bit of bright red blood - which freaked me out! we stopped immediately. I had no pain during and no pain after. There was only a bit when I used the washroom after and I have had none since. Is this normal? has anyone else experienced this? I have a follow up appointment with my Doctor on Friday, but I'm scared.

It’s a good thing you’re getting yourself checked. Did you had your tube removed?

Dear Rinihartini,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,
Unfortunately I am not medically trained and although I do not wish to alarm you, I would always advise any woman who has bleeding after intercourse or inbetween periods to seek medical advice so you are doing exactly the right thing by having a review.

Sending much love,
Karen x

How long after surgery are we able to have sex?im wanting to have sex with my husband again its been a few weeks/3weeks not sure how much time has passed tbh its one big blur. Not really had any follow up call with anyone. Due to have an appointment with doc next week 27th but the gp are absolutely useless they asked me why i needed an appointment and i simply expressed because ive had an operation.

I feel weird. I want to have sex with my husband because i want to be closer to him again but im worried about getting pregnant again and this nightmare happening all over again. Dilemmas?

Dear Amb,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,
Allowing the body to recover, ovulation to occur and the first period to arrive is often suggested by doctors as the ideal waiting period before beginning to have full penetrative intercourse (sex) again, which means waiting until around six weeks. This allows for healing of the muscles and gives you more confidence that your body is returning to its normal rhythm. Some couples, however, feel they want to have sex before this time and, ultimately, the decision about when to have sexual intercourse again is one for you and your partner and should be based on when you both feel ready. If you choose to wait, it does not mean that you cannot find other ways to be intimate should you choose to.

It is important to remember that medical professionals recommend that you do not get pregnant for two menstrual (period) cycles or three months after an ectopic pregnancy and, if you do want to have sex before this time, the issue of contraception needs to be considered.

I hope this helps,
Sending much love,
Karen x
