Bleeding 8 weeks post op

Post by Pinkrose »

Hey,

I had my first period 4 weeks after surgery which lasted 3 weeks, it was fairly light with hardly any pain but just lasted so long. I finally stopped bleeding for a week only to have started bleeding again today but fairly heavy like I would have on the first day of my period before my ectopic.

I do have pcos so my period would always be around 35 - 40 days with no bleeding in between cycles lasting 5 days. I know my body has gone through a lot but do you think I should be concerned? I had surgery 8 weeks ago and there is no chance I'm pregnant again. Just feel deflated as no idea where my cycles are at to be able to try again. I'm just worried this is internal bleeding or not an actual period due to only a week break in-between bleeding.

Thank you xx

Dear pinkrose,
I completely understand the frustration of just wanting to get back to normal again.
Periods can take quite a few cycles to get back to normal again. If you are concerned about them or how heavy they are, please seek medical advice.
Sending much love,
Karen x
