Spotting after my first period

Post by Vixie82 »

Hi. 32 days after my operation to remove my fallopian tube I had my period. It lasted 5 days and was nothing of concern. Yesterday, 5 days after my period ended, I noticed brown blood when I wiped. Today there's brown blood again. More than yesterday and showing on my underwear, bit I'd still only class it as spotting. Is this normal? And if this, turns into another period is that normal?

Hi Vixie82,

I'm so sorry you are going through this worrying time, and I will do my best to help. While I'm not medically qualified to answer specific concerns, I wondered if you had taken a pregnancy test and whether there would be any reason to think you might be pregnant. If this is not the case, we always recommend following up with your GP to let them know and alert them to any changing situations. You may also want to keep a short journal of the symptoms in the event that the spotting changes nature or intensity.

We are very aware of our bodies following our ectopic pregnancies. If anything concerns you, I recommend contacting your GPs for follow-up and to ensure your questions are answered.

With good wishes,

Michele

Yes I took a pregnancy test 3 weeks after my operation and it was negative. I'll make an appointment to see someone. Thank you.
