Post Op Ectopic from IVF

Post by Jess EndoIVF »

Hello everyone

I had my surgery last Thursday where they removed my left tube.
I've been recovering pretty well until today. The pain has really ramped up and I am passing very large blood clots every time I go to the loo. I'm wondering if this is normal? They seem very large. I was on progesterone tablets due to the IVF so I am wondering if this made my uterus lining very thick? My HCG levels were also very high and I was almost 8 weeks.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Jess,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss.
Bleeding varies from women to women after loss from ectopic pregnancy there is no set pattern. It can be spotty, light bleeding, like a usual period or heavy with clots. If you are bleeding so heavily that you have to change sanitary where less than hourly I would advise seeking urgent medical advice.

Pain is also common following ectopic pregnancy, I would advise taking pain relief as directed by your doctors and often warmth like a hot water bottle helps. As pain is so subjective and as I am not medically trained, if the pain is worsening again, I would advise seeking medical advice.

Sending much love,
Karen x
