Periods/bleeding after methotrexate
Periods/bleeding after methotrexate
I have a negative association to anything bleeding down there because of the ectopic and find it hard not to panic when I see some
So just after some reassurance that this is normal after methotrexate.. My periods also start with brown discharge and this time it has started with more of a wine colour. So I just feel uneasy about it all. I know as a woman it's normal to bleed, but it's just a bit hard to separate it from everything that happened.

Re: Periods/bleeding after methotrexate
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,
Women can report bleeding and spotting for up to 6 weeks following ectopic pregnancy.
Periods generally start around 4 weeks after hCG levels have returned to pre pregnancy levels. Periods can take some time to settle into a normal pattern for you. Your first period maybe heavier or lighter, it maybe clotty, more painful or just like one of your normal periods, there really is no set pattern.
I hope this helps, if you have any concerns please seek medical advice.
Sending much love,
Karen x
