My fault

Post by Vinvoo95 »

Why can I not shake the feeling of my ectopic pregnancy was my fault. I couldn't grow my baby right and then had the hardest discussion to have the surgery to remove my baby and tube. I can't help but feel like a total failure at the moment. This happen on the 10th June also on my birthday.. I feel like I can physically break down and cry because I have to be strong and hold my life together for my other 2 children who both know everything.. I want to cry..

Dear Vinvoo,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,
When we experience ectopic pregnancy we are suddenly faced with a life threatening emergency and it's treatment, reduction in fertility and the loss of our babies. Experiencing any one of these is an ordeal, putting them together is immense and your feelings are completely normal.

feeling like a failure can be common following baby loss, sadly there is no way to prevent ectopic pregnancy and for most women there is no cause either. From the bottom of my heart I wish to tell you that you are not to blame.

Ectopic pregnancy can be very isolating, these boards are filled with women with similar experiences and I found comfort by reading others posts as it made me feel less alone. We also have email and telephone support if you feel you would like more support, but we will be here for you on these boards for as long as you need too.

Ectopic pregnancy can be a very traumatic experience for some women and a trauma can take up to 3 months to even start to process, so please be kind to yourself and allow time to grieve and to heal both physically and emotionally,

Sending much love and warm hugs,
Karen x
