Mini-pill query

Post by Agandz98 »

Hello,

I had an ectopic pregnancy treated with 2 injections of methotrexate (the last one being 23/06/22) which I have been told has now resolved therefore I have been discharged from the care of the early pregnancy unit and able to try again in 3 months as desired.

My question is - would my usage of the mini pill (progesterone only pill) have had an effect on slowing down the egg within my Fallopian tubes even though I had stopped taking it 2 years prior to getting pregnant? (I took it every day for 5 years beforehand but stopped in 2020 as wanted to conceive).

Also, will the previous usage of it still have an effect of the efficiency of my egg being able to move through my Fallopian tube in future pregnancies even though I stopped using it in 2020?

Thanks for your help.x

Hi Agandz98,

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss. The experience can leave us with many questions. I'm not medically qualified to respond to these specific questions. I encourage you to follow up with your GP/Doctors. The experience of an ectopic pregnancy leaves us with many questions, particularly around ttc and future pregnancies. I have found that jotting my questions down, as they arise, and bringing them to a GP appointment have been helpful. As well, these boards are full of women with similar experiences. Please know we are here for as long as you need.

With good wishes,

Michele
