Dye test

Post by LucyLo20 »

Hi all,

I am having a dye test on my remaining tube (following an ectopic and removal of the other). They have recommended this due to my age/possibility of needing IVF. I am not allowed intercourse until after the test due to the radiation. But the test is in the middle of my fertile window so does anyone who has had this know if it is safe to ‘crack on’ after the test?

Thanks

Dear Lucy,
The Trusts advise that people are able to try to conceive again during their next menstrual cycle after a tubal patency test unless medical professionals suggest a longer wait time. It has been claimed that pregnancy rates are increased in a cycle when a tubal patency test has been performed.
We are not able to provide personalised medical advice, so I would advise speaking to the clinicians before you have the test to also check when they advise it is best for you to try to conceive.

We have more information on our website which I have copied here which maybe helpful.
