After MTX Twinges & Feelings
I had an ectopic & was treated with methotrexate. I was told my levels were back to a negative level after several weeks of waiting and tracking. Throughout the process I was very anxious & hyper focused on any feelings/pain/etc. in my stomach. I was also so nervous that I feel like I caused myself digestive issues (constipation, gas, etc.) Now that my levels are negative I was hoping to feel better but I still feel twinges & weird awareness in my stomach. Is this normal? Am I just overly focused on the feelings? Could it be that I'm just feeling my digestive movements when I didn't before? My doctors didn't say that they needed to do any additional blood tests to confirm my levels stay negative, does that mean there's no chance of the cells growing again after they go to zero?

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy loss,
When we experience ectopic pregnancy we are suddenly faced with a life threatening emergency.and it's treatment, reduction in fertility, worries about the future and the loss of our babies. Experiencing any one of these is an ordeal, putting them together is immense and your feelings are completely normal.
Once your hCG levels have fallen to pre pregnancy levels you are no longer producing the pregnancy hormone, so the treatment you have had has worked.
Experiencing some pain after an ectopic pregnancy is normal as your body has been through a great deal over the last few months. The pain may be due to your body settling down after treatment. Your body may be preparing to ovulate and many women experience ovulation pain when they did not before their ectopic pregnancy - including myself. You also may have a heightened perception because of the sad loss that you have had to go through. If you find you experience offensive smelling discharge or an increased temperature of more than 37°C or just want to be checked out to be on the safe side, it would be worth asking your doctors to run tests to check for infection. We advise taking pain relief as advised by your doctor or pharmacist.
Please be kind to yourself in this recovery period and allow time to grieve and heal both physically and emotionally.
