Ceitidh’s Story
In April 2025, I found out I was suffering from an ectopic pregnancy – something I had knowledge of but never thought would happen to me. The whole ordeal was heartbreaking and I felt completely helpless.
I turned to social media and found The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust (The EPT) online. After clicking through the resources on the website and feeling less alone, I decided to turn my pain into something positive and signed up for the Great Scottish Run to fundraise for The EPT.
It was difficult to stay motivated, but I kept persevering. I was able to channel my thoughts and feelings into running and always felt lighter after each one. I truly think doing this has helped me through this year and some of my most vulnerable times.
The atmosphere at the race was amazing – everyone was so kind and supportive, and the crowds were electric! Crossing the finish line took an enormous amount of dedication and mental strength, but I could not have done it without the support of The EPT and everyone who donated and encouraged me along the way.
I feel such a sense of catharsis and closure, and I can’t wait to see what else I’m capable of!

Thank you
We are so proud of Ceitidh for channelling her experience into something so inspiring and meaningful. Her openness and courage remind others that there is strength and healing to be found after ectopic pregnancy loss – and we’re so grateful to have had her running in support of The EPT.
