Emily's Story
I had a great run yesterday, the weather was perfect and the route so beautiful. The route was also super well supported, so many people there cheering the whole way and I had my very own cheer team too in family and friends which was lovely. I finished in 1hr 53mins which I was super happy with!
My daughter was my very own VIP cheerer of the day and my friend made a fantastic banner which they proudly held up all through the race raising awareness and keeping me motivated.
I was keen to get involved as during my time in April/May when I suffered the ectopic I truly remember the warmth and care I got from the charity and the website was so helpful with my findings. It felt like I was reading facts but given a big hug at the same time. The Forum was also super insightful and helped reading other stories mostly due to the fact I hadn’t known anyone personally who had suffered an ectopic before so helped made me feel less alone in my suffering.
I’ve raised £1,806 which I feel overwhelmed by, everyone was so supportive and keen to help me give back to a cause that was important to me.
Our huge and heartfelt thanks to Emily for bravely taking on this half marathon, raising essential funds and awareness.
