We are pleased to announce Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) endorsement of our Think Ectopic campaign.
A new ectopic pregnancy biocard has been produced by The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust in collaboration with various specialist healthcare professionals at University Hospitals Birmingham, Aberdeen Centre for Woman’s Health Research/Aberdeen Maternity Hospital, and NHS 111/Northwest London Integrated Urgent Care provided by London Central West Unscheduled Care Collaborative (LCW).
Together with supporting resources for clinical handover and patient safety netting, the biocard reminds primary, urgent, and out-of-hours health professionals of the symptoms of ectopic pregnancy and time critical next steps.
Dr Michael Mulholland, Honorary Secretary of the Royal College of GPs, said:
“This is an important campaign for all healthcare professionals to remind about ectopic pregnancy.
“Together with supporting resources for clinical handover and patient safety netting, the biocard reminds primary, urgent, and out-of-hours health professionals of the symptoms of ectopic pregnancy and time critical next steps.
“We will always encourage raising awareness of ectopic pregnancy for general practitioners who would be the first point of contact for women and people experiencing symptoms.”
The EPT welcomes RCGP’s support for our Think Ectopic campaign.
