Hold an EPTea Party

Many people we speak to find immense comfort in sharing a cup of tea and a piece of cake with a friend, family member, or colleague during their recovery journey. If you’d like to turn this simple act of comfort into an opportunity to raise awareness and funds, why not host your very own EPTea Party?

It’s easy to organise: simply pick a date, invite your friends, family, colleagues, or community group, and gather together over a lovely cuppa. Every donation from your EPTea Party guests will directly help us provide vital support to anyone affected by ectopic pregnancy when they need it most.

Make Your EPTea Party Unforgettable

Whether you’re planning a cozy catch up in your living room or a sunny garden gathering, these ideas will help you brew up something truly special for your EPTea Party. Remember, every detail, no matter how small, helps raise vital awareness and funds to support those affected by ectopic pregnancy.

Choosing Your Perfect EPTea Party Setting

The beauty of an EPTea Party is its flexibility – you can host it almost anywhere that feels right for you and your guests.

  • Your Own Home: For an intimate and comforting feel, your living room or dining area can be transformed into a cozy tea haven. If you have a garden, consider a lovely outdoor gathering when the weather is kind, enjoying the fresh air and natural beauty.
  • Through Work: Does your workplace have a communal area, a spacious meeting room, or even a canteen that could be used after hours? Hosting at work can be a wonderful way to involve colleagues and spread awareness within your professional community.
  • Local Community Hubs: Explore options at your local community centre, a welcoming club, or a dedicated function room. These venues often offer various sizes and amenities, from small, private spaces to larger halls, providing flexibility for bigger groups. They might even have kitchen facilities, making catering easier.
  • Local Tea Shops or Cafes: Some local tea shops or cafes might be open to hosting your EPTea Party, perhaps even offering a special rate or package. This can provide a charming, ready-made atmosphere with minimal setup required on your part.

Recipe Ideas: Delightful Bites and Brews

No tea party is complete without delicious treats and refreshing drinks. We have some ideas for you to look at but you can be as imaginative as you like when it comes to your own EPTea party!

  • Sweet Bites: Indulge your guests with an assortment of sweet treats. From lemon drizzle cupcakes, colourful macarons in our charity colours, to an indulgent chocolate cake – no cuppa is complete without something sweet.
  • Brews & Beverages: Beyond the classic tea and coffee you might like to add a little G to your EPTea Party for the over 18’s (venue permitting)!

To help ensure your event runs safely and smoothly. Please consider the following:

  • You will not wish to incur loss, damage or injury as a
result of fundraising. Depending on the venue, check out the insurance cover you might require.
  • Take care when serving hot drinks, particularly around young children.
  • Always ensure any food you’re providing has been stored at an appropriate temperature, hygienically prepared and thoroughly cooked. See www.gov.uk/food-safety-your-responsibilities/food-hygiene for more guidance.

Fundraising Fun: Engaging Ways to Support

There are plenty of ways to raise extra sponsorship at your EPTea Party event. Here are just a few ideas
to get you started:

  • Tea-Trivia Quiz: Test your guests’ general knowledge – adding some fun questions about tea. A small entry fee per team adds a fun competitive element while raising funds.
  • Bake-Off Bake Sale: Invite guests to bring their best home-baked goods. Encourage them to “vote” for their favourites with a donation.
  • “Guess the Tea” Challenge: Organise a blind taste test featuring five mystery brews. Each guess can be a donation, making for a fun and interactive fundraising game.
  • Raffle Fun: Encourage guests to buy tickets for a chance to win wonderful prizes! Reach out to local businesses for donations or assemble a lovely hamper. A raffle is always a popular way to boost donations.
  • Set up a collection box at the venue
I hosted an EPTea Party to raise awareness and funds for The EPT because the organisation means a lot to me. .... The afternoon was a big success. We had great discussions and everyone thinks highly of the organisation! A woman from the local newspaper came with one of my friends and would like to do a story on me.
