Amy's story

Christmas Day, I tested positive for our first baby. I cannot put into words the shock, excitement and happiness we both felt. Our world very quickly came crashing down three weeks later when I was rushed to theatre to remove a ruptured ectopic pregnancy.

All of my red flags had been overlooked and there were many missed opportunities to prevent surgery. However, just three months later, I have healed and I chose to put my energy into raising awareness of ectopic pregnancies.

I found so much comfort in The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust’s website and information, that I wanted to give back. So I began running and completed a 10k dedicated to the charity.

If I can say anything to any woman experiencing what I did, please know that you will get back to yourself, you will heal, and everything will be okay. As heart breaking as the loss is, you will never forget your little tulip 🌷.

Take each day as it comes, feel your emotions, and most importantly – be so very kind to yourself. 💜🌷”
