Dear Body

Not so long ago I hated you, for what you stole from me. You left scars on my body and made me feel as though I had failed. I thought of ways to hurt you and make you pay for what we had lost. You made me cry for so long I wondered if it was normal. You made me want to hide from myself. You made me feel ugly.

I’m done hating you, I can’t hold on to this burden and breathe.

You saved my life not once but twice. You left scars on my body because you knew how scared I was to forget. Through the pain you showed me who would stand beside me and love me without judgement. You taught  me that it was OK to cry. You taught me to be stronger than ever before.

Through you failing, I have a story to share and most importantly, I forgive me!

Holding on to hope.
