When Liam decided to take on the Colchester Stampede 10k, he wasn’t just signing up for a run – he was stepping up for a cause close to his heart. The race, set against the wild and wonderful backdrop of Colchester Zoo, offered the perfect mix of challenge and meaning. Known for its unique route through zoo grounds and the surrounding Essex countryside, it gave Liam the chance to do something physical and purposeful in honour of his wife, Jayne.
Liam's Story
I decided to take part in the Colchester Stampede 10k because I know how much the charity means to my wife Jayne. Ever since we have been together Jayne has been a massive advocate for the charity and I know it has, and still does, help her through some very tough times in her life.
I felt it was about time I did something to help raise awareness for the cause and I felt doing the 10k would be the perfect challenge for myself, but also the perfect way to raise some cash for the charity.
Raising money for the charity has meant so much to myself and Jayne and I know the £135 will go towards helping The EPT as much as it has helped Jayne and everyone connected to the charity.
