Maria and Alex take on 80in1 in May to support The EPT

Maria and Alex's story

Maria and Alex walked 80 miles throughout May for The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust’s 80in1 challenge, and raised an incredible amount along the way.

“We loved doing the 80 mile challenge, and can’t believe how much we raised!”

Their motivation came from personal experience and after going through the trauma of an ectopic pregnancy, they were determined to do something meaningful in the aftermath.

“I never thought we’d be the unfortunate 1 in 80, and it’s been really hard for us to cope with. I think it’s just one of those life-changing events you never fully overcome, but The EPT were so supportive during this difficult journey.”

“As soon as I’d recovered from the surgery, we knew we wanted to do something. And we’re so glad we did! It kept us occupied, whilst allowing us to give something back.”

Maria and Alex hope their story will encourage others to talk about their own experiences and get involved.

“We really hope that sharing our story encourages others to open up about theirs. And if you’re thinking of doing any fundraising for this amazing charity, we really urge you to give it a go!”

Thank you so much, Maria and Alex, for sharing your story and taking on the 80in1 challenge. You’ve helped raise both funds and vital awareness, and inspired others to keep talking and keep walking.
