Ectopic Pregnancy Awareness Day: What I wish more people knew - Natalie's words

21 Jul 2025 | By Kerri

What I wish more people knew about ectopic pregnancy is that just because the physical pain of having your Fallopian tube removed has faded and scars have started to heal, the emotional pain is still there a long time after. Six months post-ectopic pregnancy (and previously three other miscarriages), and I still relive it in my head often. Seeing pregnant people around you is hard emotionally because that was meant to be you too.

Also, what I wish people knew about ectopic pregnancy is the fear of trying again – because you and your partner are too scared to put your life at risk again, stopping yourself from ever having another child. So when you’re next asked, “Are more children on the cards?” you just brush it off because you don’t want to share your real feelings with colleagues or acquaintances – but each time they ask, you internally get upset again.
