I’ve had two ectopic pregnancies – the first managed just by blood tests and hospital oversight in 2012 (known as expectant management), and most recently in February 2025.
My latest ectopic pregnancy was stuck next to my left ovary. It had rotted and caused an infection in my left Fallopian tube. I also had a mass measuring 11cm on my right side. I ended up with internal bleeding and had to have emergency surgery, losing 2,100 units of blood and requiring a blood transfusion. Both Fallopian tubes were removed, along with the ectopic pregnancy and the mass.
During surgery, they also burst a load of blood vessels, which left me bruised all over my stomach and private area because the pressure bandage wasn’t applied correctly. I also have pictures from the surgery, including one where they opened me up, showing I was full of blood, and another of everything before it was removed.
