The Great North Run 2019

We are delighted that we have a lovely team running to support and raise awareness for us this year. The team have trained hard to build up to the half marathon and we are so grateful for all their dedication and effort. We know the atmosphere and support on the day will spur them all on to complete the iconic course. Please join us in wishing them all the very best of luck on the 8th September after which we will update you with how they got on.

Starting in Newcastle upon Tyne, the 13.1 mile route takes runners through the city centre towards the River Tyne where thousands of people will cross over the iconic Tyne Bridge. From they will travel through Gateshead.

The route, lined by thousands of supporters, leads runners to South Shields where at the top of Prince Edward Road the view of the sea is one of the most welcoming sights along the whole course.

From that point there is just over a mile to go and the crowds get louder as runners make their way down the final straight towards the finish line.
